Chloe LOVED to Fish

Chloe always loved the water, she loved to swim, she loved to get wet, as long as it didn’t involve bathing.  I bought a her plastic kiddie pool and two dozen feeder fish at the pet store, the 15 cent kind people buy to feed their piranhas.  I stocked the plastic kiddie pool with a few of the feeder fish and let her have at it.  She couldn’t believe it, she jumped right in and started chasing the fish.  She would stick her head into the water and follow the fish and a lot of bubbles would come out of her nose, or she would jump up and pounce with paws and mouth going after the fish.  It didn’t take her long before she caught the first one.  She had an insane amount of fun fishing and would catch several fishies a day.  (the vet did say she should eat more protein =)) .

No Water – No Problem

She would be in the pool for hours every day trying to catch the little fishies.  I had to make her come in when it got too hot in the middle of the day as she wanted to keep going non stop.  In the morning all dogs used to race to the front door to go outside to do their business, but after we got the pool, Chloe would first race to the patio door to check on her pool, and then she would run to the front door to go outside.

One of my neighbors thought this whole fishing thing was a great idea and she came over with her dog Maddie so that Maddie could give fishing a try.  Chloe and Maddie were good friends and they liked each other and played together all the time, but when Maddie wanted to fish in Chloe’s pool, Chloe decided that sharing her beloved pool was not an option for her, so she “marked” her pool by peeing in it =).

In the winter when there was ice in the pool she would dig at the ice to see if there was maybe a fish under it.  In the spring when it was too cold to fill it up with water and a chair was keeping the pool from being blown away by the wind, she would sit next to the chair in her pool.
